Before you travel to Burma, you have to consider the political situation in that country.

Since 1962 a military government took over and stopped the democracy movement.

The universities are closed and the Peace- Movement led by nobel price winner Aung San Suu Kyi is suppressed by the government.

As you enter the border to burma, you are forced to change money for a bad exchange course like 1 US$ for 6 Kyat. Better you carry US$ cash to change at the black market, there you will get 185 Kyat for 1 US$.

Because of the political isolation, the country is conserved in a stage where you feel sometimes beeing hundreds of years in the past, so it is a very interesting country to visit.
